A sustained urban cleanliness campaign that organises weekly and monthly community clean-up events across Greater Accra. Working with district waste management units, traditional authorities, and youth groups, MABEL coordinates waste collection, proper disposal, and public education in the city's most waste-affected neighbourhoods.

Since launching in 2018, the programme has organised over 240 clean-up events, removed an estimated 45 tonnes of solid waste from streets and drains, and trained 3,200 community waste marshals. The initiative directly supports SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

A flagship education programme that embeds environmental consciousness into the everyday school experience. MABEL partners with the Ghana Education Service to deliver a structured sustainability curriculum, distribute eco-kits (reusable bottles, cloth bags, sorting bins), and establish waste reduction competitions between participating schools.

To date, 247 schools across seven regions have enrolled, reaching over 125,000 students aged 8–18. Teacher training workshops have been conducted in all participating districts, and quarterly environmental assemblies are held to maintain engagement and track progress.

This programme establishes fully equipped material recovery facilities in underserved urban and peri-urban communities. Each hub collects, sorts, and processes plastics, metals, paper, and glass from households and small businesses. Sorted materials are sold to certified recyclers, with proceeds funding hub operations and supplementing community income.

Three hubs are currently operational in Kumasi's Bantama, Suame, and Asokwa sub-metropolitan areas, collectively processing 12 tonnes of recyclable material per month. Two additional hubs are under construction in Tamale and Cape Coast, with funding from the European Union and GIZ.

A youth-focused innovation programme that challenges university students and young entrepreneurs to develop practical, scalable green technologies addressing Ghana's waste and environmental challenges. Participants receive mentorship from industry experts, access to prototyping facilities, and seed funding of up to GHS 20,000 for the most promising solutions.

Now in its fourth year, the Green Innovators Lab has supported 48 youth-led projects, with 12 innovations successfully commercialised — including a low-cost plastic-to-fuel converter, a community biogas unit, and a digital waste tracking app adopted by three district assemblies.

A large-scale reforestation campaign targeting degraded land in Ghana's Brong-Ahafo and Eastern regions. Working with the Forestry Commission, district assemblies, and local landowners, MABEL coordinates tree planting events, seedling cultivation, and long-term monitoring to ensure survival rates above 80%.

Phase 1 of the programme was completed in December 2023, having planted and monitored 12,400 trees across 14 communities — exceeding the initial 10,000 target. Phase 2 launches in March 2025, targeting an additional 15,000 trees across the Volta and Northern regions, with funding from the UNDP Green Climate Fund.

Ghana's coastline stretches over 539 kilometres, and much of it bears the burden of plastic waste washed in from communities and ocean currents. This programme organises quarterly beach clean-up events along the Central and Western regional coastlines, while simultaneously educating fishing communities on sustainable practices and marine conservation.

Working with the Ghana Fisheries Commission and coastal community leaders, the initiative has removed over 18 tonnes of plastic waste from beaches and coastal waters since 2020, trained 1,400 fisherfolk in waste management, and established six coastal monitoring stations that track pollution levels monthly.
